We all know that plants are alive, but I feel like they aren’t alive in the way people think they are. Of course they’re alive, they have roots, they grow, they die- the whole shabang. But just like humans, they respond to negative and positive feedback, they respond to music, just like we do.
As much as we do for plants, the water, the sun, the love and care we give our little guys, they do just as much for us, and I think we should treat our beings as if we were plants. Being careful, kind and gentle. Although there are people who just aren’t plant people, for me personally I’d like to represent myself as that but truly the concept I’m trying to create is that, things and people you love you take care of them and we should treat ourselves the same.
We are the ones who put the seeds in for our plants and guide them, in a way we are very similar. We have planted our seeds and we are growing and having guidance and getting guidance all around us. Plants too. Metaphorically, they are a symbol of growth, love, and death. Also showing us life’s path and how we grow and how at one point we too were just seeds.
Plants wilt, they change, they grow, and they die. Like everything in life. I truly feel like plants represent humans. There are no good or bad plants but there are plants that have been through the dirt and the mud, no sun , no love and ended up becoming toxic, kind of like people, but even those plants maybe they’re not as toxic as people make it out to be. A lot of “toxicity” is projected I think, like what does it even mean to be toxic, is it the people or their actions or a combination of these actions making up said person. Can these people be good people?
Everything all around us is everything we are.
It is hard to accurately depict whether someone is a bad person, a good person… or what kind of people would we be without the labels? Lately I’ve been super interested in what does it even mean to be good or to be bad? How many good things do you need to do to outweigh the bad or how many bad things bring you to a point of no return.Mind you some people will think someone did something good and another person could think they’re totally cross. So what does it all mean?
I actually ended up talking to my therapist. As much as I think it would be easier for people to not use labels like good and bad, it’s something impossible. If we were to take away good and bad theoretically, we would just create new labels and new words. It’s all so simple for something so complex, but yet that’s just who we are. We are perfectly imperfect, humans are not meant to be perfect or to learn to be perfect we are here to learn how to live, which brings us to the meaning of living, and life.
I don’t think there is really a meaning to life. I’ve been sitting here wondering why we do this, why we do that, because we can, you know? We have the possibilities so we do it, then it goes back to the why, well if they were “bad” why do it. There is no point in a why if it’s subjective but then that leaves you with the hole of curiosity and an unknown philiosphy that is yet to be uncovered by this meaning of life, the missing puzzle to all the ultimate questions.
The meaning of life in itself is subjective. There may be one right answer, maybe one or many people are right about their theories, or what if they’re all right? Or neither wrong nor right- it just is? This whole essay is a contradiction in itself. I think that my meaning for life is to live. Be free be kind, be gentle, and have fun.
This is our life, our life is our plant. We take care of our plant, we love our plant, we water our plant and sometimes forget to water it, and forget to put it out in the sun.
That is planting the seed to your life realizing we are so imperfect and beautiful. We are so curious and unique that the question of our entire being is yet to be answered. We are all here for a reason, let yourself sprout and grow and fall and regrow into you as a whole. We can be whoever we want to be. You choose how you react, how you feel, and the effort you put into something. One’s opinion is not who you are and you don’t need to make it who you are. We are beautiful.
