ABOUT

The Hoot is the official student publication of Valley High School.

Everything on this site was made by a student. Reviews, editorials, poetry, personal essays, interviews, podcasts, video, art, recipes, and playlists. No teacher wrote any of it, and nothing gets published because an adult decided it should be.

Every piece runs under the name of the person who made it. A byline here means a real student picked that topic, did the work, and decided it was ready for other people to see.

That is what we stand for. Real work made for a real audience instead of work made to be graded and forgotten. Students speaking for themselves, about what they actually care about. You do not have to be the best writer in the room to belong here. You have to have something to say and the patience to make it good.

Students publish through the Digital Publishing class. If you are new and want to see what that looks like, start at hoothoot.org/webquest.
