The impotrance of life – Caleb Marvive

The time we spend on this earth is so very limited, in the vast expanse of the universe we are a tiny speck. So I always ask myself the question: Why do we get so caught up in this idea that everything has to fall into place, and why, until those events happen do we just sit around hoping for something more? Then I started to really think about that question, and I’ve come to realize that the time you’re waiting for doesn’t exist. If you want more out of life then you have to make it happen. You have 75 years, that is not a lot of time, that’s 75 winters, springs, summers, and falls and some of us don’t get that chance to live that full life we so desperately want. That’s why I strongly believe that we should enjoy as many moments as we can while also consistently trying to learn and grow.

This way of thinking has offered me a new perspective, that life has more to offer than what’s presented on the surface level and if you want a full life you have to work and strive for it. This alternative way of thinking has also led me to believe that the real meaning of life is to enjoy the experiences of life regardless of how bad or good a situation is, making the best out of it can help us grow. The process of life can feel lonely and hard at times but the process is necessary. But if we stay aware of our own actions and the impact they have it can make life a whole lot easier. Now don’t get me wrong, there will still be the actions of others that we can’t control, but if we keep an open heart and mind we can shift our perspective and we can completely change the outcome of certain situations or how we view what is presented to us. We have the power to make the future we want happen. It really depends on you. Don’t let your past hold you back from experiencing new things, or going to new places, meeting new people, etc. The sky’s the limit, dream big and keep moving forward. We all are capable of great things and great change. It all depends on you.

Though you may not understand your own strength yet with time and effort, if you truly get to know yourself you will begin to understand that you can be more than what you are and you can become your biggest supporter and you can realize your self worth and value. All we need is a push to try and be better, surround yourself with people who will keep you up when you are down, and push you to be better when you don’t want to be. With time comes experience, wisdom, and self improvement but it requires you to really work on yourself. All good things in life don’t come easy but that’s ok, but just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s worth doing or addressing. We have to keep an open mind to change in order to become the person we want to become. It’s really all on you to decide where you belong. Don’t let the influence of others dictate your decisions in life, don’t give others the power to control you and do what they want.

I’ve come to learn that in my 18 years of life that regardless of all the things that were bad, there was also good. You can’t have one without the other. Good and bad things work hand in hand to build and reshape you. If life was all good we wouldn’t be able to understand the value of things if you don’t work for what you want then what are you working for. We have to be honest with ourselves in order to truly know what you want out of life. I’ve also learned that though the pain from your past can be heavy, you should let go of the weight and free yourself from the constraints you put yourself in. We are all trying to figure things out and that’s ok but don’t settle for less than your worth, and don’t forget to truly live, you only get one chance don’t live the same year 75 times. Be the best you, you can be.
