I chose to spotlight Sophie because she’s taking a class at JTech to learn how to do nails. Learning anything at JTech is an amazing opportunity. She works hard in class and is on time. Sophie shows Valley Excellence because she’s the only student in her class that goes to Valley.
Sophie went into JTech with some knowledge about nails already. In order to learn how to do nails you need to put in about 900 hours. Sophie is doing JTech everyday on top of her regular school work plus spending time in the summer to finish up her hours.

Sophie is only doing nails as a hobby and something to fall back on in the future. It’s not long term. She’s only doing nails for fun. She puts in more than 10 hours into learning the process in about a week.
The hardest part about doing nails is finding the right shape and design for the person’s
preference. She used to do her own nails and put in time and effort into her own hands by doing her own nails. She is now learning how to do other people’s nails, but she doesn’t start the nail process for another few weeks.
