Input -> Output by Seven Roundy

This piece was created with the intention of showing a visual of what it’s like to feel as if you are fundamentally different from what is “normal”. I have always felt that my thought process and way of feeling emotions and holding conversations was more similar to that of a machine than a human. I view my own consciousness (and sometimes others’) as somewhat algorithmic.. Both a human brain and a computer accept inputs, and display outputs. Though I have felt and thought this way for a long time, being in a space such as Valley has stopped it from feeling so ostracizing. I always thought being in an accepting space would make the feeling of being so vastly different go away completely, but instead I’ve found I have grown fond of my differences. Learning to accept that I feel and work differently has been more freeing than suppressing it has ever been.
