People in the U.S Should Have Free Healthcare (by Damian Garcia)

I think all people in the United States should have access to free healthcare because it is a necessity for survival for everyone. Healthcare should be paid for through tax money rather than other things that aren’t necessary. Everyone knows that there are dumb things and experiments that the government spends taxpayers’ money on that could definitely be spent on more useful things. The main thing I think it should be spent on is free healthcare for everyone in the United States and focus on important necessities.

Over half of America struggles to pay medical bills/debts. Having free healthcare would also stop citizens from having medical debts. Everyone would be able to save a lot of money to spend on other things such as bills, food, or maybe even starting a business. This would overall raise their level of living and make more people more likely to afford and pay taxes and sustain the economy.

I have a family who has many different medical issues within it and would definitely benefit from something like this. My mom has many different medical issues and is allergic to almost everything, which has led to her spending a lot of time in and out of the hospital throughout her life. This means a buildup of medical bills that are many times overpriced and for things that are out of her control. If healthcare was free, she would have saved probably hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years.

There are many other people in the U.S. that have similar or worse conditions and could benefit from this. Many of them take multiple trips to the hospital a week or spend days at the hospital racking up bills that they have to pay due to things they can’t control.
